Reporting to the Waste Treatment & TFS Manager, the Waste Treatment & TFS Officer will be responsible for managing waste treatment requests from Portugal and Spain, analysing waste streams, supporting commercial activities with technical expertise, and coordinating Transfrontier Shipment of Waste (TFS) processes in compliance with applicable legislation.

Descrição

  • Manage waste treatment requests received from the Sales teams in Portugal and Spain;
  • Analyse waste characterisation data, chemical analyses and Safety Data Sheets (SDS/MSDS);
  • Identify appropriate treatment routes and associated costs for different waste streams;
  • Prepare and coordinate Transfrontier Shipment of Waste (TFS) notification files;
  • Ensure international waste shipments are conducted in line with legal and environmental requirements;
  • Liaise with customers, authorities and internal stakeholders regarding TFS activities;
  • Monitor pre-notifications, financial guarantees and regulatory obligations;
  • Support day-to-day operations by resolving non-conformities, deviations and customer issues;
  • Maintain data quality and consistency within ERP/SAP systems;
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and operational projects.

Perfil ideal

  • Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related scientific field;
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply;
  • Interest in environmental compliance, waste management, sustainability and circular economy topics;
  • Ability to analyse and interpret technical information, chemical analyses and Safety Data Sheets (SDS/MSDS);
  • Fluent in Portuguese and good command of English;
  • Spanish language skills would be an advantage;
  • Good knowledge of Excel; experience with SAP or other ERP systems will be considered a plus;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Good planning, organisation and attention to detail;
  • Good communication and teamwork skills;
