- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for submission to the Group, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insightful recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather relevant financial information and ensure accurate reporting.
- Financial Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive financial plan for the organization, spanning a 4-year horizon, that aligns with strategic objectives and supports business growth.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads to establish financial targets and monitor performance against key metrics.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations for improving financial performance and achieving targets.
- Investment Project Evaluation:
- Evaluate potential investment projects, including capital expenditures and business expansions, by conducting thorough financial analysis and risk assessments.
- Prepare investment proposals, outlining projected financial returns, payback periods, and risk profiles.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to assess the viability and strategic fit of investment opportunities.
- Team Management and Motivation:
- Manage and lead a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and motivation.
- Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and support the team in achieving individual and collective goals.
- Foster a positive team culture and ensure a high level of engagement and collaboration.
- Technical Expertise and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and maintain technical knowledge of accounting regulations and requirements.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in financial reporting and performance management.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address technical accounting issues and provide guidance.
- Language Skills and Reporting with Group:
- Fluent in English or French (differentiating factor) to effectively communicate and collaborate with international stakeholders.
- Liaise and report to the Group, maintaining strong communication channels and providing accurate financial information.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CFA certification is preferred.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting within a retail or similar industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis techniques, and investment evaluation methods.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Demonstrated experience in team management, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Experience in conducting investment evaluations and collaborating with management controllers to optimize profitability and balance sheet.
- Highly autonomous, meticulous, and agile in managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
